accommodation guide - The Greenbank Hotel

The Greenbank Hotel is Falmouth's oldest, and the only hotel on the water's edge of one of the world's largest and deepest natural harbours. Dating from the mid-seventeenth century and with its own private quay, The Greenbank served as a base for the Captains of the Packet Ships, which sailed on regular schedules carrying mail, passengers and cargo around the world. Spring 2000 saw completion, by new owners, of a million pound refurbishment programme, justifying The Greenbank's claim to embody the finest traditions of comfort and hospitality. As you step into the entrance foyer, with its flagstones and sweeping staircase, sense the atmosphere of history and tradition that has made The Greenbank famous for over three hundred years.

History and tradition

Our spacious bedrooms have been luxuriously re-appointed. Most offer breathtaking views across Falmouth Harbour to Flushing and the Roseland Peninsula beyond. All are en-suite with direct dial telephones, remote control televisions with teletext, hairdryers and beverage facilities. The Greenbank offers a relaxed informal style in both its restaurants and each enjoy the panorama of Falmouth's ancient harbour and St Mawes castle beyond. Naturally, seafood plays a major part with the finest and freshest on the doorstep. Catches are landed only hours before they arrive here from market.
If you are palnning a special event, The Greenbank boasts the Riverbank Suite where our dedicated team will take care of the whole occasion, leaving you time to relax and enjoy your party.
The Hotel is licensed for Civil wedding ceremonies.

Getting Here
Getting here is not difficult. The quickest way is by air - flights to Newquay from London Gatwick take just over an hour. Rail journeys from the Midlands or South East take about four hours. We can arrange to pick you up from the rail station. Or come by car - the M5 and the A30 make it a very direct journey with less than 7 miles of single carriageway. So you can leave work Friday afternoon and be with us in time for dinner.

Directions
Approach Falmouth from Penryn and at the roundabout take the left turning along North Parade following The Greenbank sign. The hotel is about one mile past Falmouth Marina, on the left.
